About Kenmore Rugby Club
Founded in 1965, the Kenmore Rugby Club, affectionately known as the Kenmore Bears, has been a cornerstone of junior rugby in Brisbane’s Western suburbs. Originally called the Koalas, the club was established during a pivotal time for rugby in Queensland, coinciding with the formation of the Queensland Junior Rugby Union in 1961 and the development of Ballymore as the sport’s headquarters.
By the 1970s, Kenmore Rugby Club secured its home at Akuna Oval under a lease agreement with the Brisbane City Council. The clubhouse, built in the mid-1970s, remains a hub for social and community activities. The grounds feature two full-size, floodlit pitches that host matches and events for Kenmore and other local groups.

Community and Commitment
Kenmore Rugby Club prides itself on being a genuinely community-focused club, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for players, families, and supporters.
